Privacy policy

Painters Hobart (painters-hobart.com.au) is an independent quote service, operated by Uplinkd Group Pty Ltd (ABN 50 660 968 123). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we pass it to and how you can access or correct it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you request a quote we collect your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the service you need and anything you tell us about the job. We also record the page you sent the request from and the time you agreed to it being passed on.
Like most websites we collect basic usage information (pages visited, browser type and an approximate location from your IP address) through analytics tools, to understand how the site is used. This is not linked to your quote request.
Why we collect it
We collect your details for one purpose: to pass your request to a local house painting business so they can contact you about the job. We do not use them for anything else.
Who we pass it to
With your agreement, which you give by ticking the box on the quote form, we pass your request to one local business that we believe can help. That business will contact you directly, quote and, if you accept, do the work. They handle your details under their own privacy obligations. We may be paid by that business for the referral.
We do not sell your details to anyone else.
Painting tips emails (optional)
The quote form has a separate, unticked box for painting tips and seasonal reminders. Only if you tick it do we add your email address to our tips list, kept with our email provider. Every tips email says who sent it and has an unsubscribe link, and we act on an unsubscribe straight away. Leaving the box unticked does not affect your quote request.
We use service providers to run the website and send email, and they only handle your details to provide that service to us.
Business enquiries
If a business contacts us through the site about working with us, we use the name, business name and contact details it gives us only to reply to that enquiry. We do not add them to any mailing list.
If you do not provide your details
You do not have to request a quote. Without a name, phone number and suburb we cannot pass your request on.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests for up to two years so we can answer questions about a referral, then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the details we hold about you, or ask us to delete them, by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with how we handled your details, email us first; if we cannot resolve it you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Overseas disclosure
The website, including the requests you send through it, is hosted on servers in the United States (DigitalOcean) and delivered through Cloudflare's global network. Email is sent through Brevo, which stores data in the European Union. We use providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change to this policy on this page with its new effective date.
